Project Details
Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) is providing program management services for DFW Airport and its consultants in support of the TSA EDS Recapitalization Program across Terminals A, B, C, and D. STS oversees all baggage handling system (BHS), architectural, and engineering design activities associated with the replacement of explosives detection system (EDS) equipment within multiple screening matrices.
STS coordinated all TSA submittals from pre‑design through 100 percent construction documents, ensuring compliance with TSA requirements throughout the design process. Following design completion, STS manages procurement activities and contract administration for both the general contractor and the BHS contractor, supporting the program through detailed design, construction, commissioning, testing, and final system acceptance by DFW Airport, American Airlines, and the Transportation Security Administration.
The project scope includes the replacement of 36 legacy CTX‑9000 EDS machines with new CTX‑9800 EDS machines. Implementation is being executed in 11 major phases and 26 additional sub‑phases to maintain airport operations. Temporary checked baggage screening facilities are established in 10 separate locations throughout the project, with as many as 14 temporary EDS machines operating concurrently at peak implementation periods.
