United Airlines engaged BNP Associates to implement gate layout upgrades across Terminal C North and Terminal E at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
United Airlines engaged BNP Associates to implement gate layout upgrades across Terminal C North and Terminal E at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The scope included phased design updates, aircraft parking improvements, and equipment relocations to support operational efficiency and safety across 36 gates.
As-built CAD and PDF documentation were submitted to the Houston Airport System Permitting Department upon completion. All design and construction activities conformed to the latest GLSM requirements.
BNP updated Gates C1–C11 and modified the Vehicle Service Road (VSR) between Gates C10 and C11 to increase wingtip clearance and enhance airside safety.
In collaboration with PGAL (prime design lead), BNP updated Gates C14 and C15 in accordance with the latest GLSM. The VSR behind these gates was also upgraded as part of the broader Terminal B North Concourse project. The existing Aircraft Parking Information System (APIS) unit at Gate C14 was rotated to align with the new aircraft approach path.
Gates C12 through C14W were updated, completing the GLSM modifications for Terminal C North.
All gates, except E8–E11, E12, and E21, were updated with BNP as the prime design consultant. These excluded gates required future APIS relocations. No lead-in lines were altered during this phase.
BNP collaborated with Burns & McDonnell, Thyssenkrupp, and Archer Western Construction to relocate six lead-in lines and their corresponding APIS units over a two-month construction period.
